If you don't want to buy it, you can just take apart a shirt you like that fits well and use it as a pattern. My suggestion is to use ribbing on the neck hole and possibly the arm holes. You cut the length of the ribbing half the length of the hole you want to sew it on to (neck and arm hole) and stretch it as you sew.
For those who were asking, these are my suggestions. Try sewing with knits, it is easier than sewing with cotton and really fun!

i have the built by wendy dresses book and i love it! i have been wanting to buy this one for sometime but just haven't yet. i will put it on my birthday list for marc to get me. hehe
i was eyeing that book but haven't been sewing much lately i didn't buy it. someday when i start sewing again!!
i have this book but haven't gotten around to reading it yet! got it for my birthday last year because i wear all knits practically so i thought it would be a good thing to learn more about. so glad to read your review!
