she was really into making these valentine's day cards, and they turned out exactly as she wanted them to. She glued everything on in the spot she thought was perfect. And colored every corner, she traced her own foot and hands ( i did her hands too--the ones you can tell what they are)...she did not want any help.
She held the marker in her fist, and "carefully" and purposefully scribbled in every heart with determination. I made the cards and stood back and watched. After a minute she said here mom you do one. I picked up a turquoise marker and started to neatly color a heart.
"no mom, do it like this!" she grabbed the marker from my hand held it in her fist and scribbled in the heart until she ripped through the paper. Then she said "see?" She was really proud. She didn't like that turquoise color though and said mom "that color is gross", she left and came back with a wad a of wet toilet paper and tried to clean it off. I stopped her though, of course.
She even chose which valentine she was sending to who. So when you get your valentine in the mail know that it was made with love, just for you, from a very pleased little two year old who knows exactly how she wants things done.

yeah, why would you use turquoise for a valentine melissa? ;) she totally knows what she wants, and they turned out great! there are some lucky valentines out there today!
so cute! that kaiya is such an artist! my kids made some, too. but not quite as detailed. as for that jumper dress, it is similar to the one you made out of denim for kaiya. my mom gave me tons of old patterns - few from the 70's, lots from the 80's. that's where i got the pattern for this one. lots of girl patterns (there are 5 girls in my family). most are sizes 2-6 for girls. (dresses, skirts, shirts, shorts - some more complicated than others). totally sucks to not have my camera right now, otherwise i would post a pic of it. you can use it if you want. but as creative as you are, you make your own patterns too, right? wish i were that gifted! some of them are very flimsy, i wanna re-trace them onto better paper.
i love that she thought the turquoise was "yucky" ... haha!!

SO cute! That is a cute nickname.. Moo. She is getting smarter everyday! My kids are 2 and 5. I run the 4-H Afterschool Program at Orem Jr, go figure back in Jr High the stage of my life I hated. I direct and oversee 17-19 clubs a year and teach for 30 mins a day. What is it you are doing?
